End Of The Year Self Assessment
I deserve an A, because i have been working very hard during PE. Everyday i come to PE with a good attitude, ready to work hard, ready to improve, and ready to help others. I have improved a lot throughout the year not just fitness wise, but also my leadership skills. I have improved on my beep test results, the hill run, 25 minute run, and the circuit. I also do physical activity outside of school, gymnastics and i go on runs when i have time. I train Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Fridays, for 4 hours each day, so that makes 16 hours a week, from 4pm-8pm. Which means as soon as i get home from school i have to get ready for gymnastics, and when i get home at 8pm after training i do my homework then go to bed. Sometimes it gets very overwhelming but i love the sport. Gymnastics is all year round, not competitions, but training. During summer i am training from 9am-1pm either for 4 days a week or 5 days a week. But i get 2 weeks off near the end of August because i am going on vacation with my family. Gymnastics is very stressful, if you are scared to do something you get mad at yourself and so does your coach. If you don't do that skill before you leave the gym you get very disappointed in yourself, and if you don't have a good day at the gym you are in a bad mood for the rest of the day. Sometimes it is very hard to manage my fitness with my school. I really enjoy doing physical activity, because it makes me feel good after, and i do not want myself to be in a condition due to not enough physical activity regarding the future.

Level of Commitment to Extra- Curricular, & Daily Physical Activity
Being a gymnast, you have to really commit yourself to train, to show up at the gym for a little bit more than 14 hours a week. They say gymnasts are some of the best athletes in the world, because we not only have to have physical strength but mental strength as well. It takes a crazy amount of courage to be flipping your own body weight in the air repeatedly. Even though I do PE every other day, I mostly benefit from training at the gym. To be the best athlete I can be, I have to keep track of what I'm eating, and avoid eating unhealthy as much as I can, even though I cheat occasionally. I'm always pushing myself to to the best of my ability. We do drills at gym, and they help me clean my routines and to learn new skills. We also do a lot of exercises to improve my flexibility, stamina and strength. I've been working on my back hand springs, trying to get them on the high beam, which is really scary, because I hurt my back, and wasn't able to do them for a while. I used be able to do them on high beam, and connect them, but after my injury, it's like starting from the very beginning. I really enjoy doing PE at school because it helps me build my stamina and gives me extra time to work on my fitness level.

Nicaela's PE Midterm Reflection
During PE this year, how have you shown you are prepared and willing to participate
in a variety of activities? On what days have you participated to your best effort and
why? What days have been a struggle for you and why?
How do you contribute to the overall success of the class? What kind of attitude do
you bring and why? How do you interact with other students in our class?
Describe your participation during fitness days - have you been able to push yourself
physically? What types of fitness activities do you enjoy the most? What fitness
goals do you have for the rest of the year?
What does "leadership" mean to you? Who are the best leaders in our class - why?
What improvements would you like to make in PE by the end of the year? What are
you the most proud of so far?
Finally, what letter grade A, B, C+, C, C- (gulp) best represents the effort you just described?
1. During PE this year, i have shown participation by bringing my PE strip everyday, pushing myself, and encouraging others. I have participated to my best effort on fitness days, because i feel that i have to do well for my health, and make myself fit and active. The beep test has been a struggle for me, because i dont feel that motivated. The circuit has been a struggle for me, because its non stop so i dont have any time to rest.
2. I contribute to the overall success of the class by having a good attitude, and helping others. I bring good and motivating energy, because i want myself and others to do well in PE. I talk to everyone including the gr.8's. I help all the gr.8's and show them around and explain to them how PE works.
3. During fitness days i participate to the best of my ability and give 100%. Yes i have been able to push myself physically, because i mentally motivate myself, by telling myself that i can do it. I enjoy insanity, because i can see the activities so that i know how to do them, and the trainer on the screen is motivating. My fitness goals for the rest of the year are to do my best every fitness activity, increase my beep test score, and get more cardio.
4. To me leadership means someone that takes charge, is encouraging and motivating. i believe that everyone is a leader in there own way, because everyone takes charge.
5. I would like to improve my cardio by the end of the year. I am most proud of my strength, because i practice at home and gymnastics.
6. I think that i deserve a B in PE for this semester, because i am very active during PE, at home and gymnastics which i do 4 days a week for 4 hours each day. I am encouraging and motivating towards others.
